Collegiate Chic at Fashion Week

Among all the labels I would expect to see at fashion week, I was particularly surprised to see this one. This Princeton grad put a stylish spin on the understated college sweatshirt by pairing it with a  leather skirt and boots, both by Marc Jacobs.

I first spotted the exotic, sweatshirt-wearing beauty Preetma Singh, front row at Jenny Packham and I kept wondering, which I’m sure you all are as well, “What is an Ivy League alumnus doing at New York Fashion Week?” Turns out she  graduated from Princeton (which she raves about) to later become a corporate attorney in D.C. She then realized the legal field wasn’t for her, so she headed to New York where she currently works as a fashion assistant at Vogue.

An inspiring story that I will keep in mind, especially through these next stages of my life. Hats (and berets) off to her for the unwavering perseverance in following her passion.
